Adding a folder to my backup in Windows

To add a folder to a backup, you will have to change the sharing settings on the folder and log in to the web interface for your backup server and add the shared folder to the list that is backed up.

When you go to the URL for your backup server, you should see the words 'BackupPC is over here.' Click on the link and you should be prompted to log in with your chemistry ID and password.

Locate your computer from the drop down list on the left hand side.

Connecting to a Chemistryfs3, Chemhome, or another server in Windows

If you are using wifi, make sure to start WiscVPN. Instructions for connecting can be found here.

1. Use 'Windows Explorer.'

Explorer is the window you see when you have any folder open, whether it be 'My Computer' or any other directory. Type two backslashes (i.e. \\) and then the name of the server you are trying to access. For example, if you want to access chemistryfs3, type \\chemistryfs3 into the field and hit enter.
