Remote access to the Chemistry network

There can be many reasons why a machine would be unable to access shared network resources:

- You are connected using the University's wireless network. Some of the shared network resources do not allow access from the university's wireless connection. To resolve this, try connecting directly to a wall jack within the Chemistry building with an ethernet cord or connect via the University's Virtual Private Network (VPN).

- You are connecting from home or another building on campus. Again, this is a security matter that must be dealt with by either connecting directly to a wall jack within the Chemistry building with an ethernet cord or connect via the University's Virtual Private Network (VPN).

- You do not have the proper permission necessary to access the shared resource in question. If you are getting errors that mentions something about permissions or you are a recent addition to the Chemistry Department, stop by 9311a to talk to a helpful CompHelp employee about getting your group membership and permissions set up correctly.
